How to use Shortcodes in themes

In the following article I have explained how to use shortcodes for columns and buttons in themes. In the following I have used shortcodes in Colorway WordPress theme. However, you can create shortcodes for any WordPress theme. After reading this article you will be able to create the following:

Shortcodes for Columns Shortcodes for ButtonsCreating Shortcodes for Columns:-

Follow the steps given below and create the shortcodes for columns.

1. Go to your Dashboard
2. Click on “Pages” section
3. Under the pages option, select “Add New Page”
4. Mention the heading of the page and under the two options (Visual and Text), select Text
5. Place the following shortcode code for columns in the Text field

Remember
– Here I have written the content of Coloway theme in the column codes. However, you can write your own content while using these shortcodes.

: Place the above code as it is and don’t give any spaces while writing the code.

6. After writing the code, select template as “Full Width Template” & click on “Publish” button. In case you want to make further changes then update the content every time
7. Visit your website

Creating Shortcodes for Buttons

Follow the steps given below and create the shortcodes for buttons.

Steps:-

1. Go to your Dashboard
2. Click on “Pages” section
3. Under the pages option, select “Add New Page”
4. Mention the heading of the page and under the two options (Visual and Text), select Text
5. Now type the code as shown below

Remember
– You can change the name of the buttons.

6. After writing the above code, click on “Publish” button and in case you make further changes then update the code every time
7. Visit your website
