FAQ’s simply means frequently asked questions that are an important part of your site, and very helpful section for your readers and visitors. The importance of FAQ’s section can be elaborated by an example, suppose you have a site without FAQ’s section and you have launched a product, and displayed it on your site. Now your visitors are eager to know more about it and no doubt you have made a well designed sales letter of your product, but there are different kinds of visitors or customers with different mentalities and doubts in their mind. Some may get their solution from your sales letter but some may not. Further some may ask the doubts from you directly and clarify their minds for purchasing it and the remaining visitors may not even ask their doubts rather switch to other sites may be your competitor’s one. In this way you will lose your customer. The other problem is that maybe many of the visitors have the same questions and you have to reply the same answer or solution many times, and that results in your time consumption.
After reading this example I hope you can easily understand the use of the FAQ’s section in your site. Now further in this article you will find the way to how to implement this section in your site.
You have two options to cover up this section, one is to just design/create a page and write all the FAQ’s in it along with their solutions, but this method is helpful when you have a handful of items.
However the other option is to use a plugin for the FAQ’s that allows you to create a dedicated FAQs section in your WordPress site. It also allows you to categorize and tag each question, called the WordPress FAQ Manager. It uses custom post types and taxonomies, to give developers full freedom on how they want to display it. For beginner users, it comes with a lot many short codes that the user can use to display FAQs in a certain category, or tag etc. Additionally these FAQ topics and tags are independent of your post categories because they are custom taxonomies that are dedicated to just the FAQs section.
Now the steps to install it are -
Upload the ‘WordPress-faq-manager’ folder to the /WP-content/plugins/directory or install via the WP admin panel Activate the plugin through the ‘Plugins’ menu in WordPress. Upon activation, you will see a new menu appear in the sidebar called FAQsNow all you have to do is create FAQ’s topics and write a new FAQ, this works just like posts. Go to the instruction page and it will display a list of available short codes that will explain how you can display these faqs on your site.
So now it’s the time to implement this section in your site and make your site interactive and bookmark for your visitors. This will save your time as well as you can rapidly increase your customers by clarifying all their doubts and questions.
