Google Authenticator – A Two Step Authenticator in WordPress

Yes, those who are aware with the activities of hackers nowadays must definitely read this article further. It’s very easy to think about something, but requires effort to write about anything on the web. Now what if a hacker destroys it or alters it ? No doubt nobody wants to face such situation, so if you are conscious about your site and it’s content’s security, here is a WordPress Plugin ” Google Authenticator” that enables a two step authentication to enter in the dashboard, which makes your site secure. But to use this plugin you must have either iPhone/Android/Blackberry, or in other words you must have a smart phone in order to use this application. As this application works on your dashboard and your phone simultaneously.

The only thing that you need to do is install and activate the plugin by following some easy steps as given below -

Step 1 : Enter your dashboard and select plugins menu and select Add New option.

Step 5 : After activating the plugin, open “Users” menu and select “Your Profile” option.

Step 6 : You can edit your profile according to Google Authenticator Settings as shown below -

Step 7 : After setting all your details don’t forget to click on Update Profile at the end of the page.

Step 8 : Now the login area for your dashboard will appear like this -

Step 9 : In the login area you need to normally enter your username and password and also enter the code that is generated on your mobile as shown below. For that you need to click on the Google Authenticator app icon and then scan the code and enter its value in the given code area of the login section.

Step 10 : You need to enter your code and then you will be validated for dashboard entrance as shown in the given image -

Step 11 : If you do not enter your code now or if the time gets expired you cannot log in to your dashboard, and that’s it your WordPress site is now more safe.
